A larmed at the spate of tiger deaths in kaziranga and kanha tiger reserves and kanha tiger reserves in the last three months, the Environment Ministry has directed the wildlife Crime Control Bureau to probe into the possible role of organized gangs in the killings. This is for the first time that the WCCB has been entrusted with such a sensitive task. Two teams of the investigating agency have been deputed to the two reserved on Assam and Madhya Pradesh to enquire into the mysterious deaths and possible links with the poachers and probe whether a gang of poachers was involved in the crime. The State governments are just trying to brush the matter under the carpet, the ministry feels,"sources in the Environment Ministry told PTI.The WCCB say the State government's theory that the deaths were natural or tigers had died because of fighting with another predator cannot be possible as the toll since November last year had climbed to 10 in the Kaziranga parks and seven in the kanha sanctuary.

Walk off your weight
Being savvy about how you work out you shed more pounds, says MARIANNE MCGINNIS
A lot of people ask."Should I focus in time, speed,or distance when I walk?"
Any exercise, period,is a great start! But being savvy All three element are important, like layering a pyramid. Here's how to build them into your routine.
Time your walks(3 plus day a week). The first step to successful slimming is making exercise a habit.Time-based walks are the earlier way to do that because they're simple and adaptable.Pick manageable amount(say,20 or30 minutes to start)and just go at a comfortable pace.Over time, you'llburn more calories with regular walks than a single marathon session.
Speed it up(1 or 2 days a week).Once you're consistent, sprinkle in speed. You'll burn 51 percent more calories just by increasing from 3mph to 4.Rather than trying to sprint through your whole workout, add short bouts of faster walking,1to5 minutes at a time with a few minutes at a moderate pace in between.
Go for the distance(1 day a week).Long walks teach your heart and lungs to pump more oxygen-rich blood with less effort.
The result more energy for shorter workouts and other activities.Once aweek, lengthen your walk by 10to15 minutes until you're doing an hour or more
